Intelligent Systems And Their Societies Walter Fritz

"Astounding Science Fiction" Magazine

Just as a curiosity, permit me to mention my letter to the editor of the Astounding Science Fiction magazine, which was published in the January 1954 issue. The date shows my long standing interest in this subject.

In that letter, I proposed a thinking machine that:

  1. Senses its surroundings.
  2. Receives the needs of the owner.
  3. Determines the possibilities to fulfill those needs.
  4. Acts on these possibilities.
Here the author described response rules as situation-response-result. He described concepts as expressed by numbers and decomposed into parts. Curious, isn't it?
